Our phage phiCD508 was characterized by cryo-EM in collaboration with two researchers from the U. Sheffield in England. This made it possible to identify important structural proteins and an atypical contraction mechanism in this type of phage.
This work will be very useful for the continuation of our work on the recognition of the bacterial receptor by phages.
For more details, a manuscript entitled: “Molecular mechanism of bacteriophage tail contraction-structure of an S-layer-penetrating bacteriophage” has been posted on BioRixv.
